Introduction to Responsible Gun Ownership

Topics: This introductory course introduces the participant to firearm safety, operation, and basic techniques! There is also a live fire demonstration and the ability to shoot various makes and models of firearms.
You may bring your own weapon if you have one, however, make sure that on the day of class, you arrive UNLOADED. This is general range
etiquette and for safety purposes. Please have your firearm secured in either the manufacturer's case or a range bag.

Defensive Handgun Concepts: Course continuation of Basic Handgun with refresher on body stance, how to aim, firearm control, drawing from the holster, both inside the waistband & outside the waist band, reloading techniques, malfunctions, after action drills, a variety of live fire drills, and much more!
Minimum ammunition count: 250 rounds (included in course cost)

This is a 30-day challenge that meets one time each week for a 2-hour shooting practice session to focus on the fundamentals of shooting under time pressure. The course is designed to meet certain elements of shooting under time pressure. Each practice session works to enhance the student’s shooting abilities, culminating in a proficiency test at the end of the 30 day challenge. There are several levels of rank that include white, tan, grey, green, brown, and black. Each rank progressively gets more difficult with additional elements of shooting techniques! If you seek to increase your pistolcraft ability, this is the course for you!
Prerequisites:Basic Handgun (highly recommended Defensive Handgun)

Test day for PREVAIL CCW Program. Test is to achieve the highest level you can!
Ranks are: White, Tan, Grey, Green, Brown, Black (separate testing date)
Those that achieve a new rank are allowed to immediately test for the next level, except Black rank.
You may also test as many times as you would like, in the course time, to achieve the highest rank.

Course Topics:
Let's face it, half of the day is night, and even during the day, we may find ourselves in darkness (movie theater, blacked out rooms, etc). This class you'll learn how to use the power of light to your advantage. You'll learn techniques for both handheld lights and weapon-mounted lights in order to identify a potential threat.
Prerequisites- Basic Pistol and Defensive Pistol. Must bring a quality tactical light, weapon-mounted light encouraged but optional. Definitely not a class for the novice.

Also, if you have a medical marijuana card, you are INELIGIBLE to apply for a CCW. You may still attend for educational purposes, however. Please see AZDPS.GOV for all requirements and additional restrictions.
